Ride of the Month: Intro to Sedona

So much of the riding in the Sedona area is technical. We found this option for a beginner to intermediate difficulty ride on MTBProject, a great web site for sussing out rides around the country.

This ride is accessible right from the front door of Absolute Bikes, Sedona.

This ride is pretty short, and will be very easy for inveterate mountain bikers. Folks who are new to mountain biking will find a few challenges, but not be forced on and off the bike a hundred times like so many other options in Sedona. This is a great route for folks who are looking to introduce a new rider to real mountain biking!

Click the link for details and route description. https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/4924523

WARNING! Please check in with our Sedona location for trail conditions before you ride! Recent precipitation, coupled with nightly freeze-thaw has led to some very soft trail conditions in certain areas. Please don’t ride on excessively wet trails!

Propaganda: New year, new us!

We are making some small but nice changes and improvements at Absolute Bikes!

We have been sprucing up both of our locations with some fresh paint and merchandizing. Come on by and check us out and we think you’ll be pleased.

We are making significant strides towards embracing e-bike technology, and we have options for demoing various bikes on and off road. We highly recommend trying one of these new machines out. They are a blast to ride! Although we realize that this platform is not for everyone, we are hopeful that their positive attributes will draw a whole new group of folks into cycling.

Some of our events for 2017 will see some changes. The Taylor House Ride will be on a new course for 2017 as we wait for the National Park Service to repave the Sunset Crater-Wupatki Road. We may be adding an exciting new mountain bike event. We will also be assisting the MBAA in setting up a new 6 hour mountain bike race at Fort Tuthill, and maybe more!

Stay tuned as we work to keep things fresh for cycling in Northern Arizona!
